    Maybe the buyer explained the reasoning as part of her "closure" process.
    I know that with a family member recently passing some of the family still refer to the reason for the passing in conversation even though we all know fully about it.

    It can help them to acknowledge the loss if they keep repeating it.

    Not saying this is fact, far from it, but it is a possible explanation.
