Not renewing bb contract with Virgin

Hi folks,

I have decided not to renew my contract with virgin (Bb, landline), which runs out next month. Phoned them, told them, was assured over the phone that the matter is solved and line will deactivate on 7.02.

Do I need to do anything else? Demand an email confirmation or something? Or just leave it as it is? Don't want to have any nuisance from them i.e. "there is nothing on our records sir, we renewed your contract for another 18 months".

I don't think broadband companies can renew your contract without your say so any more (there was a bit of a ho ha about this a year or two ago).

Your contract doesn't 'run out'. It just reaches the end of it's minimum term, after which it continues until you give your 30 days notice. I would always give such notice in writing-and remember to cancel the DD after you get your final bill. You will also have to return the equipment.
Without VM cable, how will your get your broadband?
You will also lose your number if you simply cancel rather than switch.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

It's often a good idea to follow up a phone call with an email that summarises the conversation ... even via the Contact Us form on their website. :)
