Thomson Dreamliner Concerns/Cancellations

I think you were a bit daft to want to fly on a Thomson Dreamliner anyway.
It might be called a Dreamliner, but you can be it won't be much of a dream when configured for a charter.....
It is a brand new plane with brand new seats, a brand new entertainment system, better air quality, bigger windows and has a bigger seat pitch than BA and Virgin Atlantic.
Perhaps you are the daft one... Other than in-flight entertainment, I was no more comfortable on the last transatlantic flight I took with BA (on a rather old looking plane) than I am on low cost carriers.0 -
The plot thickens; The US regulators have grounded the 787with European and most others following suit. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-210540890

After doing a fair bit of reading and listening to feedback on the forums I am a little less concerned now but would still love a refund and a change of aircraft to something more reliable. I actually do not think Thomson will get their Dreamliners in time for my holiday either which could be good news.0

Personally, i wouldn't book with a specific company based solely on which aircraft they used.
As long as i get there, i don't give a stuff ! Always used Virgin for Florida, never had a problem. Can you claim that one aircraft is more reliable then another ? Are you an aircraft engineer by any chance ?0 -
I'm due to fly on the Dreamliner on november 1st, so I expect they're making extra sure they're safe for then

I flew on a Dreamliner last month (Air India) and it was a fantastic experience.
The main concern seems to be the Ion batteries overheating, and Boeing and the FAA have done the right thing to 'Ground' the Aircraft. Once this has been sorted out, the Aircraft should be OK to recommence flying. There are other 'teething' problems, but these should be easier to sort out.0 -

My Thomson quotation to the US offered the Dreamlner as 'standard' there was nothing extra to pay, and it was (at that time) their anticipated method of transportatipn.
If they don't get the plane on schedule, their responsibility remains to get us there, and as long as they do there is no breach - cancelling because you have flight concerns over the DL will not get any refund.0
