Don't begin to think you are being cheeky. All the baby formula/food, equipment, clothing suppliers are rubbing their hands with glee at the prospect and can't wait to get you spending £'s with them. There are discount vouchers and free samples a plenty.

I was the Queen of baby freebies......

If you join the following baby clubs, they normally make you buy a pack of nappies but you get freebies with it:
Boots (free baby bag, which everybody has!!!!)
Tesco (normally a changing box with beauty products)
Sainsburys (can't remember what was in there).

In addition, your midwife should give you a few bounty packs, which will have freebies in it (although over the years, the amount of freebies has declined considerably).

Also try Emma's Diary (google it), which is similar to Bounty.

The Baby SHow is also a good place for freebies. Its often on at Birmingham, ExCel and Earls Court. I went with my Mum and signed up for literally anything and everything I got so much stuff: baby bottles, enough washing detergent to last for 6 weeks, weaning spoons, baby towels, nappy creams.
  • Ooh don't do Emma's diary, they sell your details and you will be inundated with companies ringing you

I want a new Boots bag for this baby but since I had a baby last year I think my chances are slim to none :(

Pampers used to be a good one last year - sent like two packs of five newborn nappies and a taster pack of wipes (ewww hate Pampers wipes) out for when you're packing your hospital bag... granted it was pointless since we didn't USE newborn sized nappies and I'd already done the bag packing when they came but still!

I scared the Bounty woman on the hospital ward away! As for phone numbers - I've always just refused to give that out to any of 'em - they can send me junk mail up the eyeballs, but they ain't doing marketing calls!

Boots is worth joining purely to flag your advantage card up for the extra points on baby related stuff - it increases to 10 points for every £1 on most baby stuff (as with all of these clubs - formula is not part of the points/voucher dealie)... always comes in handy at Christmas, or for cheering myself up baby clothes shopping on random occasions (think I bought a load of really cute romper suits in there for my points last year in the middle of the two days that passed for our summer).

The one cautionary note I'd add is - if you're joining all of these - they DO tend to send you lots of emails... which depending on how things turn out - may be upsetting to you. I found ones saying "You are 35 weeks pregnant - here's what's happening this week" to be quite upsetting when my baby had arrived prematurely and was still in hospital... so might be worth using a separate email box so you can ignore them if required (or just chuck them all in the spam filter like I do)

    Congratulations! You're brave!!

[STRIKE]I had a boots bag that maybe got used twice. Not sure if I still have it or the bits from inside, but if I do and I can find it you're very welcome to have it. [/STRIKE] Offer rescinded due to abuse on another thread.

Otherwise there are loads on eBay going for a few pounds at most.
