Are you trying to backup to the C: drive or something?

No to an external hard drive

Not sure then. To be honest I would just copy over all the files I wanted to keep directly to the external drive rather than faffing with a backup utility.

UK and international pricing has yet to be announced.
There does now seem to be an indication of the price on the UK website:
    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msuk/en_GB/pdp/productID.257641900
    £189.99 after 31 January,
    £24.99 before then.

    It's a fairly significant difference!

Indeed... 25 quid isn't too bad for the upgrade but, much as I actually like Windows 8, LOL at paying the best part of £200 for it, especially if you are currently on Windows 7, it just simply isn't worth that much.

Agreed - it's a lot of money. For me, the £25 upgrade was a good way to extend the life of an old XP machine. At £190 I might as well have replaced the whole computer.

Which is why people should buy the upgrade Product Key now, while it's still cheap, of course. ;)

How much can you find a legit copy of XP on eBay for? Microsoft aren't selling it any more.

Good luck finding one that isn't pirated.
