dont know if it will work, as you have jigged the partitions about, but you could try
c:
md \temp
subst d: c:\temp
from the command prompt first.
assuming you have some free space on c:!!

E is actually the DVD writer, have used it recently... When attemoting to create a disc it only gives me "E" as an option but then when I inseert the disc it comes back with "D" doesnt have enough working space! figure that one out...

should create a d: drive in explorer, then you can try and create the discs.
subst d: c:\temp!!

It is actuallu creating a D drive that I can see in explorer...
