itunes for Android - Is there one?

Options
I was hoping to upload all my music onto the net and listen to them on my phone and/or tablet. Google Play will allow me to do that but they want me to open an account using my credit/debit card. That's something I don't want to do.

Is there an alternative free version someone could recommend please.

Thank you

Why not? It's perfectly safe and if you don't download anything through the Play store that costs then you will never pay anything. You have to do exactly the same with itunes, its the norm.

Just use Play Music, no card details needed.

Or transfer teh music to your phone/tablet ( dependant on space )
  • Have you looked at the Amazon MP3 application (cloud player).

As well as any MP3s you have bought from Amazon you seem to be able to upload some of your own.

You're limited to 250 uploaded tracks unless you pay extra; those that are 'matched' will be 256Kbps. Google on the other hand lets you store up to 20,000 tracks @ 320Kbps.
  • Thank you for your posts.

I do not like putting card details on the net and leaving them.

Another reason for uploading music is its backed up.

As opposed to sticking it in a little machine which may or may not be adequately secured?

    Good point
  • Google Play Music is fantastic - Try it - You will not be disappointed.
  • Google Play requires you to add card details for when you want to purchase anything, but you do not have to purchase anything. If you don't buy anything from the store nothing will be charged to your card. I am assuming you are looking for some sort of cloud based music system. There are a few available on Google Play I think (although that will require you to add your card details, even if you don't pay for any app). You could also consider something like Spotify which will probably have all the music in your collection and much more.
  • Surely you will be registered with Google anyway, to purchase apps??
