Thank you, really appreciate your advice.
Think it's settled. Open a VLS 80% and ride with it for a good 10+ years.:j

VLS 80% sounds a good decision to me. Well-informed, meeting the requirements you set out at the start, and with reasonable prospects for a good return. Goferit! :cool:0

Having been looking for a new investment, I have been reading this forum and in another topic I pulled two AXA bonus cashbuilder policies after reading this forum and deciding to get out of them.
I am 33 years old, I have been saving into cash ISA's and changing around to the best rates etc, only ever had share related bonds were the capital has been protected for terms of 3 and 5 years. I am by far no expert on shares but I am looking to dipping my toe into this direction as I am getting disillusioned with interest rates on savings and eroding inflation like us all and feel I need to divert some money etc into other directions as I have enough cash access in my cash isa I feel I need to try something new and I have a pension as well in place, which I will look to up as well soon.
I am getting £9471 back from these AXA polices I have just got out of, after reading what Capri09 has been looking for and various replies from you all, I felt this was the type of investment I am after with a long term view of it. As I am no expert or know enough to totally build a portfolio, I felt this suited me like how Capri09 described he was after and that I contribute to it and leave it a lone and let the time pass.
I have decided to go with it, I opened a S&S ISA with H&L and decided to go with the Vanguard Life Strategy 60% equity accumulator fund with £2000 to get started which I will replace into an account when my AXA policy money clears. The cancelled £60 a month payments I was making to AXA, I have now changed to go into the S&S ISA each month to drip feed into the Vanguard Life Strategy 60% fund.
I think I will also up the monthly payment to at least £100 a month going in within a month or two with a view of making some additional payments through each S&S ISA year.
Given my age 33, with a long term view of this and getting out of those AXA bonus cash builders early and freeing this money up I hope that this is a good long term direction to redirect monthly payments into instead and £2000 to start with from those AXA polices I have cancelled.
The rest I will put into my cash ISA before April and after April as I am looking towards a house deposit and may need to access savings from my cash ISA in the near to medium term.
I have also freed up extra money per month recently which will allow me to add some extra lump sums to the Vanguard Life Strategy 60% fund as well.
I hope this sounds like a sensible move, I feel I needed to change some direction up this year as a lot of my money is cash ISA and this is part of a new direction.
Best regards and thanks to all in this topic0 -

Good plan! I always feel so much better once decisions are made.
I am in my mid 30's and have the 80% VG acc. I wanted to take a little more risk and liked the breakdown of products within the fund. Pleased with my choice to date. I'm also with HL.
All the best (& for the move to Cyprus!)0 -

Excellent news Carpi09 and best of luck also with it all, when opening mine last week I found the process very simple with HL and nice site to use and also their smartphone app is very good also.
I also opened with £2000 and I have changed my monthly now to £150 and in a few months will look at £200 and maybe another bit of a lump sum.
Great with your regular saver as well. After going with this fund last week I feel very happy with this decision for an investment.
Good luck with it all
