I have a new saniflo and wonder what cleaner I could use. The details say use a low foaming one but I cannot find one. I know Saniflo do a cleaner/descaler but that seems to be for occasional use. Can anyone please help?

I have a Saniflo and have my own method to cure this problem.
Clean the loo as normal, with what ever you use, I use just Lidl's bleach.
Switch the Saniflo off at its isolator. Flush the loo, let it stand for a couple of minutes, switch the Saniflo back on and it will pump out as normal. Do this twice and the loo should be fine after that. If you use a very high foaming cleaner you may need to do it a bit more.
If the Saniflo runs for more than about 30 secs at any time, switch it off and let it stand for a couple of minutes - cures most of the problems !0 -

Call saniflo and simply ask! Personally I feel inappropriate bleach usage will considerably shorten its life. All together now, "Always look on the bright side of life..." :whistle:1

Appropriate use will not shorten its life......, far more damage to the lifespan is done by people putting things into the toilet that Saniflo tell them NOT to - who even give you warning labels about it to stick on the loo seat lid.
Do you have a Saniflo ?0 -
I am afraid this post is the usual diatribe from the mis-informed, it is junk to anyone considering installing a Saniflo !
People seem to think that Saniflos can be (mis !) used just as much as a "normal" toilet. A huge amount of stuff is flushed down conventional toilets which should not be. It is not surprising that a Saniflo will "object" to such treatment.
People install Saniflos and use them without the slightest regard to the totally clear instructions issued by the manufacturers - is it any wonder that they experience problems ?
There was a series of posts on this site a while back from someone complaining bitterly about having to replace the motor in his Saniflo - he was using it to pump out hot water from a washing machine ! It is impossible to counteract such stupidity !!
If a Saniflo is used as per the manufacturer's instructions it will provide many years of trouble free service - if people cannot be bothered to read these instructions, they deserve the problems they get.............0 -
Are sods crystals suitable to use with this device? It's the only thing I clean my toilet with and it works extremely well, they also produce no foam at all as they're not a detergent.0

Do you have/have you actually had a Saniflo ?
You claim your comments are light hearted (which they may be intended to be) but unfortunately they perpetuate they myth that Saniflos are unreliable pieces of equipment to be avoided at all costs.
If you use your Fiesta for cross-country purposes and you get stuck in the mud, is that the vehicle's fault or yours ? Exactly the same principle applies to the Saniflo - it is NOT designed to eat ladies sanitary wear, rubber items, Lego bricks, plastic combs - and perhaps, worst of all, baby wipes. Yet people who have Saniflos still dump these items into the toilet................despite instructions to the contrary.
I will say again - Saniflos are perfectly reliable pieces of equipment IF they are used as they are intended to be used - AND the ill-informed comments about them are ignored.............0 -

Mm - I see my previous post pointing out the lightheatred nature of the link and criticising the slightly offensive "diatribe from the misinformed" comment has disappeared. Coincidence or horror of horrors was it reported? I am beside myself with anguish.
