My bid to bust that mortgage

Back on the horse. £200 saved, £200 over paid, brought daughter a new bike this month, feeling goood.
I have told my new husband I have £10 pocket money for spends this month (exaggerating a bit) and had a bill through from the benefits agency for my fathers over paid attendance allow from 2012 which my sister and I have been asked to pay. I have said fill the form in and I will have time to gather the money together for my half. Also need to save for single bed replacement and September as the kids cost a fortune in September.
Otherwise I have had a no spend day Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and today -if you don't count bus fare and school dinner money for today which they take out of a jar which magically fills itself. Yoghurt and margarine which comes out of central food fund. Personally I have not spent a penny. Need a prescription which is £8.50 so will do that Thursday or Friday.
Therefore- continue to make sarnies for lunch. Continue to shop in L=dl, continue to meal plan and stick to it, nil top up shops, no squandering cash on fast men and salad cream, usual then...Debt Sept 2012 £140,000 end age 65.5 (maximum) four mortgages in total
April 2016 £114,599.83 (3 mortgages now)
Nil debt for some many years now perhaps 8. Need to save for a tent for holiday this year but nil else.
Over paying about £500 per month but fancy £600 so will have to think of some very money saving techniques...0 -
hello me again.
Well haven't I changed my job a couple of times in the last year and a bit, I am seeking out something wonderful, not easy in the nhs at the moment. Still haven't found the right one. Feel the need to run away and go work in Tesco (but realistically having worked as a nurse for many year a break out is not that easy). Am working full time thus the massive overpay each month £500 , but overpaying is like a disease, it gets worse and worse until unless you can pay off £114000 in one go it is not good enough.
Not sure I can keep working full time but only started with this lot 3 months ago so prob too early to tell em I don't like em much.
Otherwise kids are getting older. And thus easier to manage. Cost more money but my kids are not asking for loads just it now costs bus fares and the odd swimming pool charges not much really.
I now shop in L*dls always and also a little bit of alternative shopping else where like Superdrug for bargains and Tes for alternative hippy products not found elsewhere. You didn't know Tes was a hippy shop. I stick to a budget of £120 per week including all and everything - a lot of money but as cheap as I can manage for 4 of us, a dog and 4 chickens.
My new husband remains fab, he is still making me things that improve my life disproportionally to the value of them. Last month I announced I needed trainers, he needed to buy them for me cos I had no money, then went a brought them with my own money which I had put in our joint account!!!. I am not sure what is wrong with me I think I cannot spend money on myself without a big fan fare anyway the trainers are lovely and very supportive. Slightly concerned as I have to walk over the o2 in two weeks time and have planter fasciitis currently. (I am slightly lame - umm).
That is all and everything. Bye for now, keep on going. For me it is best just to get paid and then paid off immediately and it never occurs to me that I could spend money on myself except essentials. Long may this last x PenDebt Sept 2012 £140,000 end age 65.5 (maximum) four mortgages in total

Hi Pennypincher, I really feel for you with your poorly foot. My husband has the same problem currently and is constantly borrowing my rolling pin to roll under his foot to make it feel better! What is the walk over the o2 in aid of? Seems like a random thing to do!0
