hi, please see an email i have just sent to a former agent, is it legal what they have done?! i have wrote to the property ombudsman but not sure what else i can do.
thanks in advance:
It will be no surprise that I am writing to you as I'm sure Pete will have filled you in by now but I am livid beyond belief at your unethical and dirty tactics.
In case you’ve heard differently I will tell you what I know to be the facts.
Yesterday Pete rang my husband to tell him that someone would be interested in viewing our property through you, after the nightmare and hellish experience last time Lee declined saying we were happy with our new agent. Low and behold today I get a call from my new agency saying someone wanted to view but had been advised against it by a local agency who had said that the house was structurally unsafe, there were parking issues and in fact this agency had declined to even market our property due to these very reasons. This appeared odd as we have been on with EVERY local agent and they had been falling over themselves to market us, none of them succeeding. This is a complete out and out lie!!!!! Luckily the viewer could see what a load of rubbish this was and was still very keen to view the house, especially after my new agency told them we had a survey that they were more than welcome to look at and also advised that some low life agencies lie to try and put people off properties they won’t make money on. When asked who the agency that gave them this false information was, you won’t be surprised to find out it was you.
Just to confirm I had Lee ring Pete and ask for the name and position of the viewer, whilst you couldn’t give the name you gave more than enough information to confirm that it was indeed the viewer coming on Saturday. You also couldn’t wait to get off the phone once Lee told you that that particular viewer had been advised to not view our house after expressing an interest through you.
You became very agitated, tripping over your words, when I called to tell you exactly what I think of you and your sales tactics, so much so that when I threatened you with Ombudsman action you put the phone down on me after saying someone else in the office must have said it because you hadn’t.
I am both furious and appalled at your actions, you know us and our so to use untruths is just too much to take. How many other people have you been putting off our house? The facts are simple, you screwed us over so we got rid of you, the right contractual way and you have retaliated by trying to ruin any chance we might have of selling our house. I will not let this rest. This is currently under investigation with the Property Ombudsman you so proudly display on your site and I will be sending copies of this email over to all local newspapers, TV stations and pretty much anyone I can.
You have tried to ruin our happiness and future together as well as put your “professional reputation” on the line and you will be reprimanded for that accordingly

have you already sent that email?0

yes a few hours ago0

well its just that the way that it is phrased its unlikely the agency will reply as there are no questions for them to answer.
what do you want them to reply and say?
do you have any other evidence that it was them as it is likely that the people who came to view the house wont want to get involved?
have you asked them to provide you with details that they hold on file regarding you property?0 -
im not sure what i want them to say, i have them bang to rights, just need to know what action to take now. We were on with them for 6 mths and they now all that they said is untrue they just wanted the viewer for themselves, its so damaging to us. No other evidence other than the viewers word but you are right i dont think they would want to get invloved and certainly wouldnt ask them to.0

ideally i want to know if this is legal or unethically and i want an apology and i want to highlight this to others, im just so shocked that this has happened.0

They are just trying to keep a potential buyer for one of their own clients. Cannot blame them really.0

Shoot first and ask questions later. Really you should have thought long and hard about the best way to make trouble for them rather than going off on one.nattyb1982 wrote: »yes a few hours agoYou might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
