Any point complaining?

Hi All,
I'm wondering if there is any point sending a complaint to this:
We went to a cafe/american diner with my family (4 adults, 3 small children and a 2 month old baby).
We got to the place and they have a bouncer on the door (i think because it was Friday night and is open late). we got there about 9pm. The place was quite empty but they made us wait outside in the cold while they sorted us somewhere to sit....I wouldn't have minded if it was busy or even warm out. Eventually they let myself and the baby wait in the entrance part.
I'm not after anything (its in another city I rarely go to)

its not good serivce to wait out in the cold.
how long did you wait for?
Though with service like that it could explain why its not busy.
Was the meal nice?
I would say vote with your feet, but your not going there again.
personally I would not complain as you still choose to go in after waiting in the cold (not sure if you booked). If that unhappy at that point, could have walked off for some where else?0 -
we waited about 5 mins - which is quite a long time in the cold when the place is empty. The meal was nice and service fine once inside.
If I'd have been with my friends and not kids excited to go I wouldn't have bothered waiting
I might not 'complain' but offer 'advice'. I wouldnt go back there again because of it so maybe the local residents would feel the same.0 -
The time to complain would have been on the day rather than after the fact.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0

Does the place have an alcohol license? Isn't there something in the license requirements that kids under a certain age are not allowed in after a certain time, regardless of whether meals are being served? (8pm I think?). If yes then be thankful you were even allowed in.
I may of course be completely wrong, but this is something that niggles in my mind.0 -
nah no licence - just sells milkshakes etc.0

I would just send an email giving them "feedback", a lot of companies appreciate it as they want to give good customer service and handling complaints well is a good way of securing a customer for life.
Quite often companies will send some kind of voucher which is a bonus0 -
Maybe mention to head office, but just don't waste much time or effort on it. Tell them why you won't use their outlets in future0

Why would they have a bouncer on the door of an inlicensed premises?0

Why would they have a bouncer on the door of an inlicensed premises?
To stop pain in the @rse teenagers hanging around and causing a nuisance.
I would also drop an email to the head office just explaining that whilst you appreciate the reason for the bouncer you felt unwelcomed left out in the cold etc etcDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0
