Phones 4u, Vodaphone in disguise?

It's not the first time something like this has happened.

I've been lazily searching for a decent handset and contract I'm happy with, but so far nothing so no phone, no contract and occasionally I do still visit phone stores on and off-line to scour for any decent deals. (There still aren't any that I like).

It doesn't seem to matter where I try when I visit phones4u, the first thing they seem to suggest is Vodaphone as a network supplier, I get fobbed off!

Today when asked about a new contract, I said I only get 02 in the area I live in. I have neighbours with other networks, they have told me no signal with any of the others, I've even checked with Vodaphone and I am on the cusp of a signal or a poor signal. 02 however show a far better coverage. The P4U person checked on the computer, told me Vodaphone had a signal, didn't bother with 02 and the contracts offered were all 02!

Now I've been with Vodaphone before, they had poor customer service and I vowed never to go back, I wont. So P4U have lost the opportunity to sign me to anything today, but the issue is, today is not the only time this has happened- if I chat online to anyone, if I've ever phoned them....always only ever offer Vodaphone at the exclusion of everyone else!

Why is this? Are the funded by them or something?
