Parking Ticket

I have recently received a parking ticket from armtrac security on behalf of Cornwall council. A parking ticket was purchased but was on floor of car when i got back to it so not displayed properly.

I appealed against it and sent photo of said ticket but appeal was rejected, what can i do now?

Comments

  • Are you sure it's on behalf of the council? Who exactly did you appeal to?
  • I'm not an expert but I'd tentatively suggest you show this to the council, because if they're lying about that they are breaking the law.

Edited to add: But ignore the firm itself

Absolute rubbish do Amtrac work on behalf of Cornwall County Council.

Do you really think they'd associate with a scum company like this :

They also run their own permit scheme so why would they outsource enforcement ?

No mention of Amtrac on their web site. Time to report Amtrac !

It's important that you look at this ticket, where is the appeal to ? Where does it say to pay ? Does it say Penalty Charge Notice on it ?
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Armtrac don't work for the Council on-street do they?!

If it is a PARKING Charge Notice (not 'Penalty Charge Notice') then you do not even have a real parking ticket, it's just a piece of rubbish.

Like all the other posters on this board, you have a fake PCN. As long as it's not a company/hire/lease car then you can just ignore it and ignore the other letters that will arrive. The letters are easy to ignore and laugh at, when they arrive at the address of someone who knows it's all hogwash and not a real parking ticket at all.

The whole scam of fake PCNs relies firstly on people's ignorance of the fact that a random private company can't fine anyone, and secondly on their natural fear of parking tickets and the escalating costs/bailiff scenario. So PPCs copy the look of a real parking ticket and - hey presto! - the cash rolls in from victims who know no better.

There is no fine, no CCJ, no bailiff, no debt, no effect on credit rating, no Court, no repercussions at all.

    Tick off the letters here.

Watchdog clip with expert Solicitor's opinion (which is still valid except for the one thing that the PPC can now write to the registered keeper if no driver known) here.

Barrister's opinion - read the answer at the bottom, it's very clear! - here.

Just to advise that your other option (in England and Wales only, for an incident since 1st Oct and for AOS member cases ONLY) is to cost the scammers £32 by 'appealing'/complaining about the fake ticket. Then when rejected, appeal it further to the very new (untried but free and independent) POPLA appeals service. The decision is only binding on the PPC and costs them money either way - so us regulars would do that and then we'd go back to ignoring the PPC afterwards if POPLA didn't order the fake PCN to be cancelled! :p

If you prefer an easier life then I recommend you just play snap with the threatograms from debt collectors - simply choose to ignore and laugh at the scammer and their attempt to extort money. It's like deleting obvious phishing emails from your 'Bank'; it's a very similar con based on impersonation of authority.

If you'd prefer to appeal then do that ONLY if you are certain this is an AOS member (Google them, do not believe the ticket) and you realise it's all a bit of a farce & you know you will never have to pay (and by the way, always 100% IGNORE any non AOS member if you get another fake PCN, just Google to check each time and laugh at the rubbish!).

However, be aware that a fake PCN from an AOS member is no more enforceable than any other - it just means that the DVLA data is open to them and that POPLA is open to you if in England/Wales. You can still ignore it!

HTH and welcome to the club - we've all been there, done that (ignore option) with a few fake PCNs and a shedload of debt collector letters!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
