Sainsburys mixing non-offers in amongst offers.

Sometimes it is deliberate - if the items on offer have all gone staff will "backfill" with something similar in appearance (not price) or move items along the shelf to hide the gap.
God forbid customers should see gaps on the shelves or realise that the heavily promoted "special offers" disappeared within the first day of the fortnight long offer, not to be replaced.
If it's not there, remove the signs!
When I worked at Sainsburys, we were told to gap fill but always remove the signs. A third party company (paid for by Head Office) used to send someone in each week to check for gaps.0 -

I wish they'd done that in the branch I used. One day (fed up and with the kids with me) I stopped three men in good suits and sainsbugs badges and pointed out that I couldn't finish my shopping because their advertised items had gone missing but the signs were still there. DH wanted to hide
