I had M&S vouchers and spent them double quick, I keep telling Mum to spend her BHS ones :]

Job abd back are not going well for DH, oh well, we'll survive but I have to tell DS at some point that his birthday party is on hold for even longer - gulp!

I've ironed for flippin ages and got half the pile done, took DD to the Orthadentist [sp?] and she's ok, picked up DS from after school club - he was frozen - playing footie and basketball outside and he had shorts on! Cooked their tea and am now thinking about jobs that need to be done :]

Dusty - glad to hear your leak is sorted

    Helen :]

Anyone got a foolproof recipe for toasting almonds? Got some ys whole blanched almonds and never tried before. Don't like them plain. Prefer savoury so no honey etc. which is all I can seem to find online...

Asked on grocery thread but no suggestions yet.

macpep, ianofan thinking of both your OHs. I do a lot of recruitment and what is critical is to ask questions. Have you got anything else you want to ask? Yes! why does the role exist? why did you (the interviewer) join the company? what would you like to see done differently in this role in the future? What do you think the challenges are to making this role work? All generic questions that make them carry on talking and can turn a negative round. Be proud of them whatever happens, even getting an interview seems to be hard at the moment.
Thanks Hex, these are good tips, I will show this to DH, not sure if he will ask but I will encourage him with the reassurance that fly ladies are there supporting him x

Any news from Mr Ionafan and Mr Macpep1? Have been thinking of you both all day.
Thank you, interview is at 1.45 tomorrow :D I will be doing a mock interview with him when kids are in bed and we have no distractions

Been very norty and not at all MSE as ordered pizza, dips and Ben & Jerry's for our dinner - can you tell DH is working away today and tomorrow?! Thought why not, had a carp day and it was lovely.

Lame Wolf, I can imagine you chasing a young cocker spaniel to the letterbox - who won?!! We'll be OK when we have the new glazed double doors up but until then we have to make sure we get to the front door before Pip - or shut her in away from the front door somehow.

Best wishes for the Flylady husbands having their interviews tomorrow; really hope everything works out.

Helen jelly sorry to hear DH's back and job are not good :(, hope he recovers soon.

The kids are watching The Goodies on DVD and roaring with laughter - think I'm going to join them!!

Spare a thought for our feathered friends and put some water out if possible, I did this morning and had a blackbird standing in the dish drinking within minutes.

Yes, mine was all frozen this morning when I topped it up from the kettle. -5 as I drove home from work at 6 this evening so it's going to be another cold one.

I have done a very MSE thing...

went into the staffroom at work and there were bananas in the bin (still in their skins) left over from free fruit - we have a new member of staff and it seems that the normal route for getting rid of excess/uneaten fruit has been bypassed (send them to the junior classes).

So I got them back out. Initial plan was to fling 'em in my compost bin. But
I now have two banana loaves cooling. I will take one into work.

Mind you it cost me £1.50 for a new (second) loaf tin @ Mr A

I might delete this later (for shame;))

and yukky Raiseonline...*passes soothing eye gel*

Bother! Nothing left in the Boots sale online *sigh*
