'UK Furniture Point' - anyone bought from them?

This company is the only one I can find that has the sofa style that I want, but I've never heard of them, and can't find any reviews. Well, one website has 2 reviews for them, but it says the company has 'turned off' reviews, not a good sign but that's only two people so not a very good indicator. Seems strange that there can be a company that appears easily when Googling leather sofas, but has no reviews anywhere.

Anyone on MSE bought anything from them?

(Btw, yes I know that buying a sofa online isn't ideal, but I can't find similar anywhere else! Hoping that if I buy from a good company, it will be comfortable and good quality).

Ooh I just found this endless stream of negative reviews for 'Furniture Point Limited' (for some reason it didn't come up on my laptop...) - how can I tell if this is the same company or related in some way to 'UK Furniture Point'?

I've not bought from them, but there are a couple of ways you can check the company out.

To check the two companies out you can go to company’s house to see if they are registered at the same address. Alternatively you could try contacting trading standards and see if there are many complaints about the company.

I've bought from many online furniture companies and they have always been good, but you should always check the reviews!

Hmmm. Companies House website search has details of the 'rubbish', based in Nottingham and now in liquidation, but it has no record of the one I'm interest in, is that an issue? Must all companies register here?

They have invited me to visit their showroom, presumably that must be a good thing?

If I were to place an order by Credit Card, then my goods never turned up and I couldn't get anything from the company etc, would the credit card company refund the £1200 for me or help in any way? I'd quite like to help out a small company trying to sell products a little bit unusual, but I don't want to risk losing all my money.

Just can't believe there are ZERO web reviews for a company that's been trading since 2008!!!

Not much I'm afraid. One thing I did find though - I did a google image search for the sofa in question, and all links led to the same company in Asia which seemed to be a big reputable company (turnover >$2.5m annually, 100 employees etc). If UKFP gets its sofas from this company, then perhaps it would be ok. Only concern is that the Asian firm has minimum order numbers obviously, so my concern would be that as soon as I order, UKFP has to await several other people ordering the same sofa before the order can be made / fulfilled.

But then, I don't actuallyhave a clue how the relationships between the vendors and the manufacturers work, so I might be completely wrong.

Did you go ahead? Are you still considering doing so?

And just one more update - I've emailed UK Furniture Point twice in the last fortnight to ask if a product is in stock, and have got no reply. If they can't be bothered to reply for prospective sales, god help anyone trying to contact them for a problem or issue. It's a great shame as they appear to be the only seller of the sofa I want in all of the UK.

I purchased a sofa from UK Furniture Point just under a year ago. Similar circumstances in that I was searching for a particular design and they seemed the only supplier.

I visited the showroom near/in Twickenham and met Khan personally who was pleasant informative and reassuring. I had reservations initially but spent over £2k there (inc. coffe table) and have used the sofa frequently. It has been perfect, works as expected (moving headrests and light on one corner) and the design quality is very good. Some of the prices (being very competitive) naturally created curiosity but I understand he cuts out the middle man to pass saving on.

Offered the sofa in a number of different colour leathers and offered to make to size. I ordered the Avila sofa and the hot bending clear glass coffee table. The quality of table was also excellent for the price, very thick glass and nicely cut.

If you do not received replies I can honestly say this may be down to him being very busy.

I can supply pictures of the items 11 months after my purchase in my living room so message me and I will happily send.

I actually put UK Furniture Point into google this morning to buy a table (couldn't remember exact web address) and saw this thread and thought to give my response. I often sit reading reviews regardless of the price of item to ensure I am not left dissatisfied so hope this helps! :beer:

Just been on the site and the sofa I ordered is actually called 'Richmond'! I think the name may have changed but still on there.

Hi everyone im new to this posting lark but felt I had to post about this company , we purchased a Floremce corner sofa about a year ago from Kahn who was very helpfull answered all my questions about getting sofa bespoked ie not wanting a "SHES LONGY BIT " but a foot stool instead which he said was no problem told me it would take about seven to eight weeks , as we could not find same product I reluctantly ordered Paying half deposit ( I say reluctantly as I have never bought anulything of this value on the tinternet and vowed I never would as you hear so much horror stories !! But the wife ? Well need I say more thumb under !!!)here ggoesthe result Excellent service delivered as promised sofa bespoked as promised and in good books with wife ok small hiccup with footstool being delivered to wrong customer before me but that was delivery guys and kahn rectified very quickly all in all one of the better services iv received by any company , would I purchase from tjem again ? most definitely would I recomend ? Highly . Just to add another thing I live in the north east of scotland and delivery time was as promised which is amazing as most companies think scotland stops at glasgow ?? 5 stars .
