You mean yours switch it off when they go out? Where did I go wrong? :rotfl:
DS3 comes in and switches the TV on. Then he heads into the kitchen and puts a CD on, full volume, while he forages for food. Then he heads upstairs and puts TV on in his bedroom, while playing a computer game (with music) and listening to something different on his i-something. Finally, he comes downstairs (leaving kitchen and bedroom still playing) and starts playing guitar while watching the TV.
And then he complains when I want Radio 4 on for the Archers! :rotfl:
What is that about? MY DD listens to music and plays guitar, not playing along different songs!! I say that's impossible but she just says not to her it isn't.0 -
DD has her music on so loud the deaf gardener heard it outside. Seriously.
It's not even music, it's drum and bass and to me sounds exactly like the sound the hoover makes when it's dying. Truly, truly awful.0 -
When he's otherwise engaged, sneak into his room and turn the bass settings down, whilst increasing the midrange and high frequencies.
That should give him the impression it's louder - as at the moment, it sounds as if the output's being muddied up by too much bass - lower mid.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

Sod, that, if I can hear music or the TV in the next room it's too loud and they get one warning to get it down. If no joy it goes OFF. We don't have a house with paper thin walls, it's good sturdy stone and if my averagely middle aged hearing can hear the noise drifting through the walls, it's too bloomin' loud for health imho. Kids and teenagers can end up with really bad hearing damage from being exposed to loud noises for too long so it's not just a matter of politeness to the rest of the family, it's not a safe thing for them to be doing. Same with noise leakage from headphones, if you can hear it when sitting in the same room, it's loud enough to damage their hearing.
As to them refusing to turn it down after they've been told? Err, not in my lifetime, that's all I can say to that. They know darn well the offending item would be on Ebay the next day.Val.0 -
I can remember my mum wondering how I could study with loud music on, I wouldn't have made it through my exams without Annie Nightingale on a Sunday afternoon in the mid to late seventies. Funny it was not a fight I ever had with my two they didn't play loud music that I can remember DS had a drumkit for a while but he was surprisingly considerate for a teenager.0

Noise can be very frustrating.
I'm sure people will say there are worse things in the world, but we have a very annoying neighbor who plays the piano all the time.
It's not SUPER loud, nor at unsocialable times, it just goes on and on and on and on. She's an ok player, but after the 3rd hour of plinkity plonk piano music on a Sunday it is incredibly annoying. I used to like the piano!
It's a really solid building, and we don't hear any noise from speaking, or walking about, but this silly piano noise can be heard all through the flat (90sqm). I wonder does Piano music go down through the floor especially well...

I love that, forages for food:rotfl::rotfl:my DS says he can't sleep without a forage for food:rotfl:and I obviously go to all the supermarkets that don't sell his fav foods because 'there's never anything I like to eat in this house':rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Youngest has taken up the guitar.... i much prefer that than the Shamen at full blast (even though he's only mastered 2 chords). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Think of your poor neighbours (if you're attached) as well!0

Nope but I can hear our (detached!) next door neighbours teen sons thumping music. Thankfully it's not loud enough to need to turn the tv up and the music's usually only on for about an hour.0
