White leather sofas - any success stories?

I have a pair of cream sofas and within a week they were stained by a leather belt I was wearing. The marks were impossible to get off. Big cushions now hide the marks!
This is no problem to get fixed.
Any leather no matter what the colour needs cleaning. Dirt will damage the leather finish. Do to be put off a white leather just look after it correctly and it will last you well.
Cheers

We've got cream leather sofas and they are fine, the dog jumps up and down on them, we eat on them, my friends kids drop things on them and we wear jeans! As others have said, we wipe them down when they look grubby and they are performing well. Some of them are around 9 years old, some are a bit older and came to us second hand from a family who had small children but were moving somewhere that they needed smaller furniture.
Go for it!Piglet

There was 1 other point I forgot to mention, having had several suites in leather from mid brown, chocolate and cream.
The prblem is that the finish is basically painted on, if you don't believe me ask someone in the know, not in the showroom.
That finish cracks after a few years use even if you use saddle soap or any other stuff they try to sell you with the suite:A
On any dark or mid coloured suite these cracks go largely unnoticed as they fill with grime, it's day to day stuff that is unavoidable in normal use, but, with a cream suite these appear as brown or black graining, ours was very shabby after 3 years use.
We sold the settee and gave the chair away with it, to scruffy by my standards for further use.
In defence of the chair I will say I used it a lot after a period of hospitalisation so it probably had an accelerated life, but it was cared for.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I also toyed with the idea of buying a beautiful white sofa. I chickened out and im glad i did. I asked everyone i knew that had one and they all said DONT. Theyve all had problems with marks. I bought a classic dark tan colour and im glad i did, everyone says it looks more expensive and classic than a white one and also wont date as quick. Colour fads come and go but i would now only stick to dark colours mainly browns which you can incorporate into any colour scheme.0

We have a pair of white leather sofas from Ikea, they don't sell the exact style any more but they are quite corporate looking with steel legs and cost c£800 each for the 3-seaters. The leather is a really tough, utilitarian finish rather than a nice soft one which isn't so nice to touch but I think stands up to wear and tear a bit better.
They are three years old and still look fantastic. We don't have children though, just a well-behaved cat. One of them got biro on it once but after googling I successfully removed that with some hairspray.0
