Lots of rocket - what to do?

The rocket and mizuna in the garden have grown like fury and I am sick of salads!

Any other ideas???

Thanks

  • Rocket pesto is nice. Also rocket added at the end of cooking to a chicken broth type of soup. Could also chop it into cous cous or a rice salad. It can be substituted for green herbs in most things, or for baby spinach....

Hi throw it in a quiche with some mushroom and bacon or make it into a lasagne with some ricotta.

Have a warm salad! Toss with fried bacon and chicken in honey and mustard dressing. Serve with garlic bread and/or boiled potatoes.

Rocket risotto (with a bit of lemon zest and juice) is nice.
Or mix it in with some pasta and grilled goats cheese.
Stick on top of a pizza (once you've cooked it).

Good idea! At Pizza Express they do a pizza with loads of fresh rocker sprinkled on top after cooking with loads of shaved parmesan. Its yummy

  • Great ideas - thanks everyone, I have also managed to pot up some of the plants into a potted living salad and swapped them for courgettes from one of my co-workers!!!

Will definitely try out some of the suggestions - still plenty to use!!! They all sound delicious!

I've made lettuce soup before and it's lovely. I wasn't sure if you could do it with rocket, but I googled and apparently you can: Rocket Soup

I would treat it like any herb or leaf. Use it for flavouring and interest, as you would say watercress or basil
