I only thought about it because other people seem to have a collection of photos - natural unposed ones, and a few more glam ones.
Mine are all natural and unposed. I don't want to be deceitful, just to show that I can scrub up well if called for !!!!
get a few girlfriends round with a few bottles of wine have a girly night in and get "glammed" up then get the girls to take pics of you through the evening them you will "natural" glammed up pics.0 -

or do you want all that airbrushing and the sterile, forced smile with the naff backdrops that photography studios do? (think Venture is the one you've been thinking of)
Yes to the first and no to the second!
So how do I find the first option?0 -

Just pick natural photos where you're smiling and look happy, its the real you who'll be showing up for the date after all!
My friend said she got a better response on a dating site when she swapped the photo of herself glammed up at a party for a close-up portrait with very little make-up. With the glam party shot she got a lot of interest from men who just wanted to get their leg over whereas the natural shot go more responses from blokes wanting a relationship.0 -

you can always ask around the art colleges round your way by putting an ad. on their noticeboard in the photography dept. i think your local FE college might do a photography course, and obviously if you're close to a uni. then you'll find lots of photog. students who are keen to find 'models' for their portfolios. they probably not charge much, prob. just for the materials used (altho' it's pricier than you think! i know that some do their printing via a shop like Boots if they have it on a memory stick/sd card).0 -
I spent quite a lot of time on dating websites before I got with my husband, and I'd second going for a naturally glam shot rather than a posed shot.
And also having lots of pics that just show you, doing what you usually do.
If you're too glam some men might be scared off!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Get a friend who knows how to use a good basic camera, and choose a nice day to go out with them, maybe to a park or somewhere similar and get her to take photos of you while you're chatting and laughing. Wear a normal amount of makeup and be presentable. For the most flattering light, be in the shade or go to the park on an overcast day. You won't get any funny shadows from bright sunlight hitting your face at odd angles then.
TBH it's probably the best way because you'll feel more comfortable with a friend. The other option is to approach your local college photography classes and find out if anyone does any free headshots. If you were near me, I'd do them for you but you're a little far! Amateurs are constantly looking for models to build up their portfolios - if you don't mind them using your headshots, might be worth a shot?0 -
Does anyone have inexpensive suggestions?
Without wanting to get too personal, how pretty are you?
There are several forums out there for both models and photographers that want to get into "the industry" and many will hookup to do photoshoots for free in exchange for the images.
You dont have to be a supermodel at all, you can see there are some fairly ordinary people on these sites.
The normal precautions apply with meeting strangers off the internet but also to be 1000% clear on exactly what you will and wont do. Remember "glam" would normally be glamour modelling and so often underwear/ bikini/ topless etc rather than ballgowns etc0
