Amazon spam

I get annoyed with Amazon sending e mails and reminders to write reviews for every item I buy and spamming me with e mail adverts for those items I have viewed on line.

Log into you account and check your email preferences, tick the box 'do not send me marketing e-mail'
  • cajef is correct. Your account - settings - email from Amazon. Scroll down to no marketing option.

Yes, I have already had to do that. Previously I did not mind the odd advertising e mail but Amazon (and now their assosciated partners) have gone into overdrive. I am bemoaning Amazon bombarding their customers with an ever increasing volume of spam which makes it necessary to change my preferences and add them to my blocked senders list.

Thus in my case their increase in advertising spam will be counter productive.

I use Amazon a lot and have never been bombarded with any spam from them.

I keep a separate email address just for ebay and Amazon purchases. Ebay are as bad, they send countless emails when I bid on anything or even if I am just watching it. I keep the emails after I have bought anything, in case of a problem and once every few months, I have a deleting frenzy and get rid of the whole lot in one go. Very satisfying!

The same thing happened to me.

For a long time I just got the occasional email and was perfectly happy with that. Then they started coming daily and I had to change my settings to stop the deluge.

I did not, however, add them to my junk list as there are important messages that I want to receive when I place an order.

It should not be necessary to block them as they do honour the 'no marketing messages' option.

On a wider note, a lot of companies shoot themselves in the foot in this way. The send the odd email which is not great problem and keeps them in mind. Then some bright spark decides that what they really need to do is send out emails every day (genius - what could possibly go wrong?) and you have to either turn them off or block them.
