Virgin media do they let you know if you can join or not?

I have just ordered Virgin media online and i got a little box that came up saying doing a credit check and all was all ok.
but i got a mail with my installed date and what i have ordered but do they then send you another email if you failed the credit check and cant join them?
how does it work with Virgin media as they dont seem to be like Sky where they will let anyone join.
