Advice on 30 days notice

Options
My 24 mth contract has ended on my '3' mobile. I am now looking at changing over to a different provider and need to cancel my contract with '3'. On the website it says I must give them 30 days notice, which I was going to do by phone tomorrow. My next bill period is due to take me up to 4th February 2013. My question is this...Does anyone know if I call and give my 30 days notice tomorrow will i be charged full months bill for February despite the fact that the 30 days would technically only take it up to 12 Feb?

You will be charged until the 13th of Feb.
If you are going to port your number out get a PAC instead of giving the notice.
  • Sorry I probably sound REALLY dumb but what does 'port your number out' mean and what is 'a PAC'?

Also, if they only bill me up to 13th does that mean it should be approx 1/4 of the usual price...as in they will only be charging me for 8 days usage (5th Feb -13th Feb)??

Well, what do you think will happen with your number after the contract is terminated? You lose it unless you switch to PAYG or take it to another network.
PAC = Porting Authorisation Code. It lasts for 30 days and has to be given to the new network.

They have to - provided that you stay within your monthly allowances. If they charge more, they have to refund it.
  • That's really useful! Thanks :-)
