Aren't all the branches to be sold being rebranded as TSB to start differentiating the brands?0

TSB branch re-branding has started , with planning permission for new signage being granted at the Darnhall branch

In in Birmingham at the moment and one of the branches has been relocated:
Looking at the new signage it could easily be re-branded to LLoyds Bank when the time comes.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -
All branches will complete the re-branding by June I believe, as that is when the brands will separate.jonesMUFCforever wrote: »I wonder why they are wasting money putting new style Lloyds TSB signage up when they will all have to be changed if the CO-OP deal goes through?
The new bank is TSB, that is the brand, regardless of the buyer. The EEC commission stated Lloyds Banking Group must divest and launch a brand new bank, so even if Co-Op do complete the sales process (very close) they will retain the TSB branding (which they agreed on as preferred bidder) rather than applying their own branding.0 -

As I understand it, that is not what they said. They only insisted that Lloyds Banking Group should sell a certain number of customers' accounts. They didn't insist that a new bank was created.so even if Co-Op do complete the sales process (very close) they will retain the TSB branding (which they agreed on as preferred bidder) rather than applying their own branding.
The Co-op have only committed to keeping the TSB brand in the short to medium term, at least until their existing accounts are all migrated over to the TSB systems which they will take on with the brand. They have made no promise about keeping the TSB name permanently, and it's still possible, even likely that they will merge it into the Co-op Bank in due course.0 -

To be fair, they aimply said some branches should be transferred to a new owner in the 2010 ruling. It was through subsequent dialogue with the EEC and the government that the further requirement was stipulated that the branches be transferred to a new brand in order to give UK consumers a greater choice.Earthboy wrote:The Co-op have only committed to keeping the TSB brand in the short to medium term, at least until their existing accounts are all migrated over to the TSB systems which they will take on with the brand. Nothings being migrated for several years, which is when TSB will fly solo, the split in the brands this June-September will effectively see the stabilisers being applied for ten years. Until then all systems will be provided by Lloyds TSB though data will be stored and processed on separate, disparate servers. It is feasible that they may introduce their own bespoke system packages by that time, but it's not likely, or indeed Risk-friendly to do so for a few years at least.
Also, bear in mind that the execs of the Verde project will potentially be in place for a long time, and having met one of them, they were keen to stress that the TSB brand is one of the most important aspects of the new bank.0 -
It looks like they have started work on the re-branding of the other branches now:Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0

The Lloyds TSB Scotland in Edinburgh (South Clerk Street) seems to have the new TSB ATM surrounds and signage but with stickers over it, obviously ready to be unveilled!0

It's been said in the media over the past few days that the rebrand will begin in September 2013 whether the deal with the co op comes off or not.Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0
