Need broadband/phone package with international calls

Just got my phone/broadband bill from BT and it came to over £40! It used to be around £35 last year.
I'm not in a contract with them anymore, so can change anytime. I do not use my phone to make local phonecalls but use it a lot for phone calls within Europe. With BT this costs £5 for around 600 minutes a month.
I'd like to get down my phone line rental and broadband but find the packages all very confusing. I am not very technically minded and not sure at all what would be the best option for me, there are just so many packages out there.
Should I change suppliers will I need to buy a freeview box? I am asking as currently use BT vision and I think if I cancel BT my current BT vision box is not going to work anymore, am I right in thinking that?
Anyone know of option that may save me some money? I must keep a phone line as I often get calls from relatives in Europe that would not be able to use Skype or similar and it would cost them to much to call me on my mobile.
