Hit someone car and thinking claimimg insurance or sort myself
Hi All, In the morning while reversing my car i hit someone car in my complex. There was few scratches and dent on the car. I left a note on the car by admitting my mistake and leaving my contact details.
The guy sent me a text and thanked me for leaving note. He is ok to sort out the car repaire from local garage and bill me.
I am on third party, fire and theft insurance. I am first time driver and paid around £1400 for my insurance. If I contact my insurer for this how its going to effect my insurance premium.
Also i would like to mention that i already had an incident with the bus in the past and they already in contact with my insurance company. So if i tell my insurance company about this second incident where i am in fault again, how this will effect my premium.
Please guide me should i contact my insurance company or pay money for the repair.

gut feel is two fault accidents in the first year of driving is going to cost you ££££ and you will be heading toward the area where insurers will be reluctant to quote at all0
-
You will have to wait and see what his quotes comes in at. If you can afford it then maybe pay it from your pocket.
As above 2 accidents wont look good.. How long left on the policy?
Have one and figures suggestyour likely to have more. Add another one and it will prove them right. Add another and you may become uninsurable except for eye watering prices, And only insurers that nobody else wants to touch.
I think you need to think why these accidents happened. Were you rushing? Do you need more lessons?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

After your suggestion i will pay from my pocket. My insurance will renew around July this year.0 -
Two accidents in your first year, I'd seriously consider some remedial driving lessons.0

you dont have any choice about informing your insurance company, it is in the terms and conditions of your policy. If yo dont inform them you are breaching your contract with them.
If it pops up in the future about your non disclosure, they will void your claim and you'll find it extremely hard to get insurnce in the fuutre.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Yawn. There's always one...0 -
You can be all honest as per Mckneff or be pragmatic and offer a cash deal to the victim. But if you do this be aware that this relies on the pragmatism of the other party and your own ability to never speak/mention this incident ever again.0

Get it sorted without involving the insurance company if possible. You're already paying a lot and have a claim outstanding. Alternatively follow McNeff's advice and get out the lube.
Do people still bother with TPF&T? Fully comp (for some strange reason) has always been cheaper ime even with the cheapest of cars.0
