Hi all,
Bought a lg plasma tv just under two years ago. The tv has now a fault and contacted lg but they were not intrested? For the age of the tv im shocked it's not lasted long and wonder if I have any rights to get it sorted for free??
Thanks

Your rights are the Sales of Goods Act. The product should last for at least 6 years (assuming that you haven't accidentally damaged the product or mis-treated it) and you should be given a few options; for example the retailer repairs it for free or gives you a refund based on a 6-year depreciation valuation. For example, Currys are very good at providing the refund as I have found over the last few months with a few items that my family had probs with.
As advised previously, contact the retailer. If you can get the CEO's email adress, use that as you will find you will then be dealing with staff whose limits of authority far exceed those of generic customer services staff.
Good luck and HTHs.0 -

What's the LG model number?
What's the fault symptom?
Some faults are very simple to fix.0 -
How did you pay for it ? If you bought it via a credit card, you are the covered under section 75 and can then make a claim via your credit card.0

Incorrect.
SoGA covers products for UP to 6 years, not all products are required to work for a 6 year period.
The OP needs to get an engineers report that the fault with the unit was inherent from manufacturer, if its proved to be then the retailer is responsible for refunding the cost of the engineers report and a resolution to the issue with the unit.0 -
What is the fault exactly? It it a large screen LCD/LED or genuinely a 'plasma' panel? If so, these inherently have a limited life span in comparison, but certainly more than 24 months or so. Speak to LG, saying AJ have ceased trading and you need their assistance.
They are normally good at sorting out issues like these.0
