Cheaper/Inclusive Calls From Mobile Smartfones for BT Landline Customers.

All, I had registered my mobile number with 18185.
When I call the access numbers directly (not 18185 as a prefix but one of the two access numbers) using my mobile it is recognised by 18185 and would allow me to dial a follow on number and connect.
When I call the access numbers via Smart Talk I get a response that the number I am calling from (the mobile) is not recognised - please register to use the service.
So, I would conclude that the Smart Talk app somehow 'hides' the mobile number from the 2 access numbers (but it does appear on our incoming caller display when I try to call our home phone). The Smart Talk app won't let me dial 18185 as a prefix to an ordinary call (invalid number).
This means that I can't use 18185 via the Smart Talk app from a mobile (unless I am missing a trick or being dim - not unusual where technology is concerned!).
I CAN call the access numbers directly from my PAYG mobile (not using Smart Talk) and the calls are allowed but the costs then stack up - my 3 PAYG mobile only costs 3p per minute to call landline numbers in the UK. Going via the 18185 access numbers would cost me 3p per minute for the 020.. number and 22.5p per minute for the 0808... plus any 18185 charges so this doesn't make sense.
A good idea but I can't make it work.
Thanks for input everyone.0
