If I can open it I'll buy it, if I can't then it goes back on the shelf unopened - either way, no risk to other shoppers, other than them also being unable to open it when they get home0 -

Childproof , my foot!
I've asked the pharmacist to open my pots of tablets in the past, as without that help I can't get to take the prescribed meds.
For jam etc I have the rubbery circle thing, and a 'swingaway' adjustable opener. I also have a jarkey to break the vacuum.
I can't grip and twist so the the weird nutcracker thingies for different sized jars are useless to me.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
My trick with childproof bottles: place bottle on worktop, grasp firmly with one hand, place flat ofother hand on top of bottle cap and press down whilst twisting bottle and cap in opposite directions.
Works for me.....................I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

.
You used to be able to ask the pharmacist to provide bottles without childproof tops - they may still do that?
**Although, I suppose they probably would have mentioned it to you if they did still do that**

Place an elastic band around the rim of the lid - this helps you get a proper grip0

NeverIf like me you occasionaly find it difficult to open jam jars, you might like to look for those with easy open lids.

you can please some of the people all of the time
but you cant please all of the people all of the time
so instead of waiting for the world to make jars that you personally can open, you might want to get one of 1,000s gadgets to open jar that everyone else can already open

FrequentlyMy main problem is little hands. I've not got much finger-length to get a good grip round the sides.0

FrequentlyI save a lid from jars of jam I use regularly, then if I get one that I can't open I can destroy that lid knowing I have a replacementThe best portion of your life will be the small, nameless moments you spend smiling with someone who matters to you.0
