Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th January 2013 - . This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've just slept for almost 12 hours, I was tired & have been all week as it's been very busy. I've started to turn some work away since they stopped my colleague from helping me, I'm not doing any of the work that comes under the term 'resources' I'm probably not meant to but in the time it takes to cut sheets of paper into silly shapes, laminate them & cut them out again, I could produce 500 booklets. So far every time someone has complained my line manager has backed me up.
WM is on, DW unloaded, fish fed & hubby & I have a cuppa, breakfast will be around 10ish.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all who follow,
Julie Welcome back, we want to know all about your trip.
Jools Hope that you managed to have a good night out last night, many hugs for you.
LW I went out to a friend's house last night, there were lots of us there but her dog, a beautiful working cocker spaniel walked straight over to me and spent the night either at my feet or on my lap, it made me feel really special!
Molly, Lou Hugs for you.
Flutterby Glad that you are recovering well.
Been really busy at work this week and then busy at home with all the childrens' sports and dance clubs starting up again so haven't had much time to get on hear.
I am topping up the food stores today and then DD1 and I are going to the cinema to see Les Mis, really looking forward to it.
Have a lovely day everyone.:)0 -

Morning all, horrible icy rain here and me and DD are off to the hairdressers. Have to tidy round, put WM on again and replenish the food stocks. We were having a big moan at school yesterday at how much food was costing so everyone is feeling it and having to cut down on what they buy. I expect the cheaper supermarkets profits will go up , I'm off to Lidl today. Hugs to all in need especially poorlies and fed ups. Welcome home Julie can't wait to see photos, Jools hope you had a good night out, HH obviously you needed the sleep I've been like that this week and went to bed at 8.30 last night. LW glad Jessie is having a good time with you, Jack talks like that too especially if his ball has disappeared under the TV stand. Wuvvies Happy 18th to your DD hope she has a good day and dandy candy hope you feel better soon. Have a good day all.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund

Good morning all,
Frosty start here but the sun is out.
Dd's eyebrow, where she had the steroid injections is showing signs of growth compared to eyebrow that wasn't injected. It is patchy and there are parts that according to the dermatologist will never grow back. It was two weeks yesterday she had them. She is over the moon at the thought of having eyebrows.
Wm is on, again. Hubby has gone to bed as he was working last night. He only has a couple of hours sleep after he has finished his last night shift as he says he wouldn't be able to sleep at night.
Need to get some baking done at some stage today.
Tea tonight is chilli, from the freezer with rice or jacket potatoes.
Hester, glad you have the backing of your line manager.
wuvvies, happy 18th birthday to your dd.
jools, hope you had a good evening out.
dandy-candy, hugs to you. Try and eat something x
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Freezing here too!:snow_laug
Was going to pick up a prescription but it's too cold, and it's not essential. Had DGD yesterday and she spent the whole day eating, think she's on a growing spurt!:rotfl:
OH is coming over now which has sort of mucked up my plans for tomorrow. I am going to the cinema with a friend to see "Quartet" so he'll have to be on his own.
I have £12 left on my M & S card, so I think I'll go for the £10 dine in for two dinner today. Got to go to town to pick up my Boots sale order.( Picking it up saves me £3.95 postage)
Just weighed myself and found that I've lost 6lb this week!
((((((((((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))))))) for Jools, Molly and dandy-candyI Believe in saving money!!!:T

Glad your line manager is backing you up. Hope you feel better for a good sleep.
No signs of movement from family or guests so browsing on laptop ready to shuffle into action regarding breakfasts, tea etc.
I really hope the forecasts of snow don't happen for another few days so we can drive dd safely back to university.

Morning all.
No snow here, just more rain , a bit of the white stuff would be nice, I love going for a walk in it, its just pouring here, really heavy. OH went to the bootsale first thing (before the rain), and stopped off and bought eggs and bacon so thats what we will have for breakfast, with some bread and butter.
Dinner tonight will be hm pizza and wedges. The wm is on with OH muddy work clothes, and there are another 2 loads to go in after, it will all have to go on the airer, or rads.
Will go and see my dad at lunch time, then nip to 'book club' in the next village, which is just a shed, where you can take your old books and swap them for ones other people have left, for a donation for the local hospice, its a great idea, and dd and I love going.
Also need to sort through some bags we have put up for a boot sale, dd and I will go through them and sort them into piles, hopefully once the weather gets a bit better we can do one.
Happy Birthday to those celebrating xx
Jools how was your night out ? xx
FS I really hope the injections work for your dd xx
Have good days all,
OH is cooking breakfast:j

Morning all!
Had a good evening of blethering, gossiping and catching up with the girls, had too much wine, and was trailed to a bar serving cocktails in jam jars, not my cup of tea but managed to demurely sip a rasperry gin concoction in ladylike fashion( loosely translated threw it down my neck and tottered off to wee old mans pub along the road!) Have been up since ungodly hour with heartburn as a result, but a fun time was had by all. Shopping is needed, but wont be driving today, might nip into town on the train as my mobile is playing up, have been threatening to go back to a contract phone for a while and have money in my orange phone fund so might see about that and fetch a dine in deal for tomorrow, can dive into freezer tonight as DD probably at the bf's house after work!
Have a good day all, off to swallow some zantac!RIP Iain
