    Rebooted the laptop and the router , the message seems to have stopped popping up now.

    Could be any wireless device that is set up to use a fixed address rather than one that has been allocated to it.

    There is a nice piece of free software called soft perfect wifi guard which will give you a list of machines which are connected to your router. it is available from !!!!!!!/wifiguard308 .
