I'd like some advice on the type of phone I have, and the type of contract you'd suggest for it.
At the moment I am with Orange, but the reception is rubbish in the room where I live. I travel a lot, and do not have a landline, because of the amount I travel, and the fact that I am likely to have to move abroad next June.
I would like to use my phone for all of my calls (about 900 minutes at the moment), texting, and VOIP if that was possible. I'd also like to check and send emails from it whilst away (in this country).
Although my contract is £25, at the moment it is costing £120 regularly. I need to change and quickly!
3 offered me a skype deal, but it is much more expensive than the other deals, £40 a month compared to the half price deals. Vodafone offered one with stop the clock, but then the salesman said that it is notoriously difficult to get a contract from them (I live on a military base). Orange offered the panther deal, with weekend and evening internet access free for 2 months then £5 a month. It is only really evenings that I will use the internet access. I tried it with the E650, but the phone reception is even worse than the one I have now, so I am thinking of sending it back.
I'm wondering whether I need to have 2 contracts with different companies, for everything i want to achieve.
You all seem to know so much...all suggestions gratefully received!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but aren't Vodaphone & Orange blocking VOIP?
Have you checked to see what T-Mobile have to offer?

I found this on another thread - but have just looked at the t&c and can't find it, but does this mean that T mobile are stopping people using voip too? Do I need the new N95 phone to use VOIP or will the N65 work too?

Thanked 172 Times in 125 Posts T-Mobile web n walk users read !!!

Fairuse policys for the various Web n Walk prices plans are:

W&W (£7.50) gives you 1GB which can be used on browsing on the phone but cannot be used to stream video, use VOIP/IM or use the phone as a modem.
W&W Plus (£12.50) gives you 3GB which can be used on everything but VOIP.
W&W MAX (£22.00) gives you 10GB which has no restrictions.

As of yesterday a change has been implemented, instead of using a warning system on detecting dissallowed usage, t-mobile has incorperated a system which blocks the protocols used for various programs like IM/MSN and VOIP this will mean that the programs will stop working on regular web n walk and to continue using them you will be required to move to a W&W Plus/Max Plan.
