Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who offered advice in my last thread asking about tablets.
I think I've narrowed it down to this one, I'm on a budget and this seems to pretty good for the money. Can somebody take a peek and reassure me that it's going to be ok!

Just a cheap Chinese toy. Don't expect performance, screen quality, good battery life or build quality.0

Hello! I'm actually in the same position as you are - I've just ordered a Ployer Momo tablet, have you looked at those? They've had some good reviews. (And most of them are a little cheaper than the one you've linked too).
EDIT: Although if you've got your heart set on that one, I can't find fault.0 -
i know you may be on a budget but honestly. dont.
get a nexus instead. it will be so much better from a user point of view.
i was a doubter but my mother wanted a tablet for Christmas and i got her the 7" version. she absolutely loves it and and its got me wondering if i should get one and last year i told her to avoid tablets like a plague!2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,0 -

Fair enough, the Nexus is an incredible tablet (and it retails for around the same price as the one linked to in the original post), but it's difficult to come by at the moment and not always necessarily "better". Some of these no-brand tablets allow the user to add additional storage space and have the ability to connect to 3G - all be it with a dongle, admittedly. It depends on what people are looking for.
Most of these tablets are made by the same company(s) anyway, so it's all just swings and roundabouts. If the OP wants a tablet that they can buy cheaply, and that'll do the job, then they should go ahead.
Beware of Chinese "bloatware" though, OP. Sometimes they come preloaded with Chinese apps and software, but as another user here recommended, I sent the Amazon seller a message and they informed me that they can be removed and gave me instructions on how to do so. You might want to have a look in to that as well.
P.S: I found that watching unboxing videos and reviews on YouTube tended to help me chose a tablet. The ability to see the lag/screen responsiveness ect was great.0 -
For what it's worth, decent reviews.
Same price as an excellent 64G Blackberry Playbook from Curry's if you're not bothered about apps?0 -

Looks absolutely fine generally, I am certain that the people that dismiss the lesser known brands so harshly have never even seen one in real life and are just brand slaves.
The only thing I am not keen on is the widescreen ratio, for movie watching where you have a tablet fairly close I find eye panning a wide tablet uncomfortable and prefer to squish the movie if needed into a 4:3 shape, 4:3 is better for web page browsing, but others will disagree. Screen resolution is quite low too, my 8" tablet is higher.
One of the reviewers mention getting it for £95 which would far more convince me but its now £130+£5 delivery, on balance its a bit pricey.0 -

Just Chinese sourced demo games and such? changing language setting won't affect those. Just drag the icons from the homescreen to the little X at the top of the screen - puff! gone... although of course not actually uninstalled. Next step try uninstalling via settings - applications. My Ployer was rooted from the factory so if it really bothers install something like ES file explorer, use it to go to the system/apps folder and delete the undesired .apk's. Reboot, gone!0 -
Thanks, what about the Chinese writing on the home screen?0

Mine has some chinese in the logo during boot up... Otherwise not sure what you mean by writing on the homescreen.. where?
My homescreen(s) have just a background image, a clock and the icons for my apps with english names under each..0
