I will be going in branch tomorrow.

I will be demanding that it is a bank loan payment and it should be returned to me immediately and effectively

Or as OP4u says. Try being nice. You'll be surprised how often it works.

    The bank hasnt contacted me.

On the day the loan came into my account, i contacted natwest and asked for my balance, they said it was, for example £200...

I then decided to go in the branch and get a statement of that account as well as taking money out of my other account...

I then see 10,000 paid in, then 10,000 withdrawal on the same day.

I didnt query it there and then, i went home and called natwest. Tgey told me to go into the branch, which is what i will be doing tomorrow.

They also cancelled my cards and said my accounts will be closing in 14 days when i called up that is.

I asked why this is, they couldnt tell me but they said i can still receive and withdraw funds from any of my bank accounts.

I did not know that applying for a loan would lead to your bank accounts closing down and the bank taking the money out and "holding it"

This is very ominous and (probably) indicates they suspect the £10,000 transaction was fraudulent or in some way linked to financial crime.

I think you need to do this:
    1) Call Santander before you do anything else - make sure there are no problems with the loan.
    2) Go to the NatWest Branch - it is vitally important that you bring the loan documentation with you as I hope it would be sufficient proof of the source of your funds.

I went to the branch spoke to wonan advisor; she logged into my account and she said it was repaid back into my account TODAY.

I said why was it taken out and now paid back in again? She said we just did sone checks.

She then said I can take/use the money after 24 hours... (Something about when funds are questioned and then repaid, you can only withdraw funds after 24hours... Is this correct?)

I was thinking of going to another branch to question that

She printed me off the statement showing my new balance of £10k+ and she told me to come see her tomorrow to take funds out...

I will question my account closure again tomorrow

Having read your other threads I would not be surprised if the reason why the bank is deciding to close your account(s) is because they consider you to be too risky as a customer.

I am also not surprised that they have decided to apply extra/extended deferment to the payment in question because they probably consider it highly unusual that you would receive a £10,000 payment in to your account and wanted to establish the source of the funds.

Bear in mind it is unlikely that the branch/call centre staff will know why the bank has decided to end its relationship with you. However it may be worth getting them to see if there are any notes on your account with a telephone number for the head office department which has made the decision. Even they may not be able to give you a reason due to security considerations.

sorry to drag up and old thread but......
If Santander have paid the loan into an account which is being closed, how will they get their repayments on the loan? surely the DD will be with this account.

That would be the OP's problem. It is their responsibility to repay a loan. Natwest have no reponsibility to maintain an account just to enable a loan to be repaid, they're not a party to the loan agreement
