What type/form of complaint should I raise ...

Look on the NatWest website or in your terms & conditions document. Somewhere it should tell you about their complaints procedure and how to go about raising a complaint.

If you wish to complain then follow that procedure to the letter.

Personally I would phone or send them a "secure message" via internet banking as a first step.

Make sure you note everything you do & who you speak to and when.

    What is an AML issue?

What type/form of complaint should I raise if there is a 'particular' one?

The branch staff would not be able to sort this there and then it would be head office who would have the powers to return the funds?

NatWest complaints procedure can be viewed here:

Did you check you currect account have max to be transfer from another account personal reserve limit?.

Thought be better if you take 5K rather than 10K split into two transactions to see gone through.

You should know this current account. State at the top of your account when on line your Overdraft and Reserve max transactions. My bets you have gone over your personal reserve this is why bounce back.

Google fails to find any information on "personal reserve" on natwest.com site, but I think this has nothing to do with transfers from other banks to Natwest current account.

Sorry, I have no idea what account you are talking about. I have looked at my Natwest account and it doesn't show anything about overdraft and reserve. I have searched the Help for 'reserve' and nothing was found in the context of a current account.

I have never come across a current account where you could specify a maximum sum for incoming transactions (or for outgoing ones, for that matter).
