  • Nikon should repair it under warranty for you, use the link below and let us know how you get on.

Nikon UK would like to assure Jessops customers that we are actively working with Jessops’ Administrators in order to resolve concerns regarding product repairs and are looking to undertake outstanding repairs as quickly as possible.

All stock to be sent back to suppliers?? But I've heard people have sent in cameras to be repaired, which do not belong to jessops, what happens to people's property? They going to sell that too??
    No http://www.pwc.co.uk/business-recovery/administrations/jessop_group.jhtml
Repairs – Where possible customers should liaise with the repair agent to arrange return of their asset and third party repair agents have been notified about this. If you do not know which repair agent has possession of your asset, we have requested the repair agents to contact customers directly as well.

Please note that the estimate of the costs of repair will need to be agreed with the repair agents directly, and there is no guarantee that previously agreed estimate costs will be honoured by the repair agents.

Repairs in store on closure - Store Managers have been requested to contact customers directly if repairs have been returned to the shops, this will be done post closure and collection arranged with the manager. Please do not attend the store unless advised by the manager as access will otherwise not be possible.

"Camera manufacturer Nikon says in a statement it "is actively working with the administrators and plans to undertake all outstanding repairs as quickly as possible". It will also honour repairs under Jessops' Photo+ extended warranty scheme.
Nikon says it will contact customers directly regarding repairs, but customers with queries should call 0330 123 0928."

You may be waiting a while. Have you contacted Nikon yet to lodge a warranty claim?

Seriously, don't bother waiting for jessop's letter. The company has no money, so you're not going to get anything.

Your ONLY option is to contact nikon, and get them to repair it under warranty.

Oh, or you could just kiss goodbye to £449 and buy another one.

In future, ALWAYS make big purchases on your credit card!!b
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

You will get pennies to the pound (if your lucky) back from Jessops. A company like Jessops will have some major creditors to service (or not as it will be).
  • What model is it? Did you get a lens included for your £449?

And therefore you're giving up the protection offered by a credit card and the possibility of paying things over many months interest free.

I thought about adding "lol :money:" at the end but decided not to :)
