A friend of mine uses pay as you go BT internet( dial up). No comments please as he uses it once in a blue moon for emails etc so broadband is not needed.
Every 3 mins approx when connected a box appears in the top left corner and says "you have ignored an incoming call". When this pops up the connection is lost and have to connect again.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Cant connect as it keeps disconnecting:mad:0 -
The suggestion for the google search was useful.
It seems the most likely cause of the problem is your modem drivers. Updating them should clear it, but if you cant stay online then thats not much help i suppose
The other suggestion which seemed to work for someone was to go into properties for that connection by opening control panel, then network connections, then right click on that connection and select properties
Click on the 'Configure' button next to the modem then remove the tick against 'Enable modem error control'
You can also get to that modem configuration by opening the browser (internet explorer?) then click on 'Tools', then 'Internet Options', then the 'Connections' tab at the top, then highlight the name of the connection and select 'Settings', then click the 'Properties' button, then finally click on the 'Configure' button next to the modem name.
Worth a try, cant do any harm.0 -
Have you got "waiting call" enabled on your telephone line.if not it is very posilbe your modem drivers are out of date or corrupted as the previous post suggested .Child of a Fighting Race.0
