    In this country, yes. For Overseas travel it is better to have a Visa Debit card.

    As for the intrest, is it a good idea to have any direct debits and standing order to go out at the end of the month, so you technicly get nearly a full month with most of your wages in? rarther than have them all come out at the start just a few days after you've got paid?
