First House First Broadband

As above, just moved into our new/old house (1914), in the process of a full rewire so i'm looking at broadband deals that are on offer, i'm lucky to have a relatively new Aeriel and the freeview signal from it is really good so i've had a splitter installed and cables put in each room so don't need TV and i'm not that fussed on landline if it made it cheaper.

I do have a virgin box outside our house if there are any good deals there, so far i've seen O2's unlimited deal under £15 per month if anything tops that?.

Does the property have a landline installed? The VM cable line can only be used for VM. If you want any ADSL broadband then you need a working BT-based landline.
Since broadband is exchange specific, start with an exchange search on samknows.com for your LLU options, if any.

If you have a Virgin Cable box outside I would seriously look at Virgin Cable only deals. Home telephone with local number via VOIP/cable at 1p min no line rental. TV via aerial no cost or on line streaming.

Virgin use fiber to their kerbside distribution box then coax into the home. Almost certainly any other supplier will have to use BT Openreach copper pairs on the last leg from exchange -kerbside - home unless you are in a fiber to the home area.
  • I do have a landline cable but it is quite old and brittle as it comes into the property though.
I will most likely look at Virgin then and see what my options are, my friend works for them and got a friend of his to ring me up for a cheaper deal but he just quoted me like for like what on Virgin's website only different my mate gets £50 for it, there's cashback deals for Virgin so i may just do it online.
