    Warmfront hmmmmmm !!!

My oldman just had his boiler upgraded and three new rads fitted by them, took them two days to do the swap and install, then a further day to balance the system as it wasnt working properly, then another day as the burglar alarm had packed in because they naffed a cable up, still didnt work after a day faffing about replacing cable, so a further day fitting a new alarm panel as their work had blown the board.

So a two day job turned into 5 days ! still he's got a nice new boiler now - and is swealtering with the heat .... and he got a new alarm as well.....cant complain really.
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful
  • what i mean is why the question ? are you concerned about costs/having the floors ripped up etc etc what are your concerns ?

We got storage heater downstairs which I only put 2 on as they cost an arm and leg to use and all warm front would offer us was another storage heater in the main bedroom which to me is not energy efficient as there b no Heatib in the other rooms upstairs and my heatin bill would be thru the roof
  • unless they have changed their rules then yes a conversion from electric storage heaters to gas central heating can be done but the grant only allows for a boiler & 5 rads if you req more rads that is something you have to pay for, you might want to look at another thread on warmfront here

He was adamant that we could only have one storage heater in the main bedroom
  • i would ask the question why you can't have GCH, all i can tell you is that is has been done in the past, but your situation has also been done, your grant as far as i am aware is £3500 & you aren't going to use that up on one storage heater install, it really depends on the survey
