Usually somewhere between 38 and 42 on my Focus 1.6 Auto. On motorways that rockets, sometimes up to 80. I can do Chester to London and back (400 miles) on not much more than half a tank.

wow - what year focus is that? thats great, I do 200 to half a tank.

    Probably something like this: http://www.stevelarkins.freeuk.com/ford_focus_tdci_review.htm

For anyone used to 25-40 mpg, some of these small engined diesels provide a remarkable improvement on mpg.

And for people with an eye to performance as well, there are warm small diesels like the Citroen DS3 1.6Hdi 110bhp.
  • Getting around 30mpg on average (10-50 miles per day£. 2003 Megane 1.6 vvt or vtt. Needs to be changed asap!

Around 17mpg at the moment. Don't care though as my annual mileage isn't that high :)

My automatic Shogun 3.2 diesel does not much more than 20mpg. My view is that the planet only has limited resources and it is important I get my fair share of it before it runs out.
