Help! Albany chasing me for hire car charge costs

Did you send Albany a SAR and if so when?
Have you lodged any type of complaint? If so tell the debt collector the amount is under dispute and for them to refer the matter back to Albany or place it on hold.
I think you mentioned in the other thread Albany could not find the contract. Is this still the case?0 -
In my response to the solicitor I requested a copy of the recording which formed part of the contract. They have provided a copy of the agreement, 3 yrs after initially being asked. Still no recordings. No response whatsoever to my letter to the solicitor acting on Albany's behalf. Other than the complaints I raised in this letter I have not complained to Albany since the initial accusation they made. This was back in 2009 and they did not respond to me or my solicitors requests.:naughty

For 10k they are likely to take it to court, so best to co-operate why wont your insurance cover your 50%
They were only chasing third party for 50%. Then they decided to drop all hire charges. Now they are chasing me. They could have continued to pursue the third party but opted not to because hire charges were disputed. I was not asked to attend court to assist them, which I would have if asked to.:naughty

I assume you have made a complaint about the situation to the Solicitor?
If not, call them and demand sight of the file in question as you had put in a Subject Access Request and that they are in breach of the Data Protection Act if they refuse without giving sufficient reason.
If they do not agree, I would contact the following organisations for advice:
1) Financial Ombudsman Service and ask them whether you have a case for making a complaint against Albany(also known as Helphire) and Admiral, explain how this is affecting you.
2) If the Solicitor refuses to cooperate, try contacting the Legal Services Ombudsman and see if they are able to assist in regards to the Solicitor, if they are not, they normally are able to advise where you can go to seek assistance.
3) In regards to the Subject Access Request, might be worth a try in contacting the Information Commissioner Office, tell them you wanted sight of the file in this case and they refused your SAR, hopefully they will be able to advise.
4) Finally, might be a good idea to seek advice from a solicitor of your choice in regards to the debt collectors, if the contract is unenforcable they can not collect the debt which could explain why the Solicitors are not willing to provide details.
Good luck.0
