Which comes back to our conditions. I work nights, sometimes I do twighlight overtime shifts, so when I have to sleep in the day, what are the wife and baby supposed to do with no 'living' space?
I already know what the answer is going to be, not the HA's problem, nothing in the law that states otherwise etc.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

You know, we both work hard, like most other people do. We get no benefits at all, and it irks with me a little that I can't even get a straight answer from our HA as to whether in 15 months we will be overcrowded or not. I do not want to spend the rest of my life having to live with 3 children (of different sex's) in one room, or turning our living room into a bedroom.
I feel your pain OP but unfortunately a LOT of other people are in the same situation (or worse) than yourselves and they don't get any help from a HA, they are stuck in extortionate private rentals or in owned propeties with horendous negative equity.
Plenty of people have to turn their living room into a make shift bedroom to make room for their kids. I appreciate it's not ideal but for many, it's the only option, and is far from uncommon!
As you prob know social housing is in VERY short supply indeed, I don't mean to sound patronising, but in that aspect you should consider yourself lucky to have anything at all.
As someone has already asked, I'm not judging, but you told us you planned this baby - surely you must have realised the potential housing problems then?0 -
So I should now break my tenancy agreement?:footie:

No. We did not plan the baby HERE. We were in a 3 bedroom house when we decided to try for another child. We tried for a year, but didn't get anywhere so we decided to stop and try in a couple of years time. The wife must have fallen pregnant during the last week of 'trying'. We moved not knowing she was pregnant.0 -
