Evening all!
Am being whisked off for tapas tonight with 2 of my oldest friends, should have put the world to rights by the end of the 3rd bottle of plonk!DD off to her friends house hoping to try on her bridesmaid dress, wedding not till next year but dresses were bought in Florida at christmas time at a fraction of the cost here, so excited girlies on the cards there. DS at his friends house, so the cat will be left to her own devices, I predict the flowers will be chewed on my return.
Still feel like I am on the outside looking in, but this will no doubt pass eventually, trying to get into a routine for ourselves!RIP Iain

Last night I had lost my fingerless gloves - I've found them, and they are currently being worn. When we are out all day and the heating is off, the house is really cold when we get home, in this freezing weather.
I don't mind wearing them in January, but last year the summer was so bad I was wearing them in June!
Not much to report tonight. Been at work all day, fortunately not busy, no not as knackered as usual!
Got the WM on, will browse on here for a while and then read.
Hope you enjoy seeing your friends Jools, a good yak with your old friends will be a nice boostEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Evening All
Have a good night Jools, enjoy yourself. You will hopefully relax with your closest friends which will lift your mood.
Went swimming after work again and managed 40 lengths so feeling really pleased with myself. I have to admit i do feel better in myself so must try to keep it up.
DDs car went into garage today under warranty (last couple of weeks) as the headlight keeps going on and off. Even when it's on the dashboard says there is a bulb out! Anyway, chaps brought it back but the paperwork doesn't say what they found, if anything!
Had a bit of a rush of energy and cleaned 2 bathrooms, hoovered round, sorted and put on washing, cooked tea and sorted mail so have run out of steam now. Going to relax tonight.
Take care. XX0 -

Evening all,
I'm home:j:j
Arrived back at the airport at 7.10 this morning. It's such a long journey and we are all exhausted. It was worth it though and a great time was had by all.
So the plan was to stay awake until our proper bedtime to minimise the jet lag but have already slept for four hours:rotfl: I know not the right thing to do but went for a little nap at three and was woken by the phone at seven. Anyway will try and stay up until our normal bedtime now.
It feels very cold and fresh but nice iykwim. Managed to do a food shop this afternoon, goodness knows what we bought, and have stocked up on coal. Both me and hubby are planning to stay in our pjs all weekend and do nothing. Ds3 has already touched base with his friends and has made all sorts of plans already! We will see, I suspect he may sleep the weekend away like us.
Food is so so expensive in Australia. Apart from meat which is very good value. Everything seemed so cheap in Mr T,s but I'm sure that wont last:eek:
Our dd and DGS will pop down for a visit and a catch up on Sunday but otherwise having a very quiet weekend.
Those of you off out enjoy your evening, otherwise hugs all round.
It's great to be back. Sorry if I'm not making much sense, but will post tomorrow when I can think straight.
Have a good evening all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Evening all,
Hugs to those in need or want of one.
Jools...one day at a time is more than good enough at present, keep going but don't push yourself.
Dinner was leftover pork stirfry from the other day....tasted even nicer tonight. Still trying to get rid of all the chocolate and similar knocking around since Christmas, freezer stuff must be breeding, as no sign of space in there.
Haven't managed to go swimming at all since Sunday, meeting DD4 on Sunday morning so hopefully will do better next week. I envy you Camelot with your 40 lengths...12 is my best but am aiming to build on that.
Welcome home Julie...big difference in temperature...I didn't think the journey to and from Perth half as bad as from the East coast, we are lucky here that Emirates only have one stop in Dubai and it certainly seems to help...your plans for weekend sound really good.
We are apparently going to have the same weather as UK from Sunday....we often seem to get off more lightly in spite of short distance between us, hopefully it won't last for long...I hate that white stuff!
Planning on an early night to-night, OH is watching rugby so might take off soon with a book and hot water bottle. Sleep well all and stay safe.

Sorry I've not posted this week, I've been so busy being back in work (and with shennanikins kicking off), have skim read each day, but am not totally up to speed. I've made a concerted effort this week not to do what I want to do (ie, browse the fora) but to do what I have to do both on and off line. O n a positiv note, having to be so detailed and methodical in work helps, especially when things are fraught, plus feeling much better for routine.
Shall post more on the w/e, but sincere thanks to all for continued good vibes. I am fine, honest. One highlight for this week, had a business appt at a W Wales coastal resort on Wednesday, a stunning sunny spring like day. Finished early, so I had a sneaky half hour walk on the beach, watching the dog walkers and listening to the sea. LW, think it was you would love 6 dogs? me too, even more if I could, my last geri teri (geriatric terrier) died back last year, and I still miss her. A walk isn't a walk without a dog in my eyes. Anyhoo, must go, a glass of wine is winking at me . . .0 -
Evening everyone
Had a good week at work in my new job, really enjoyed working with the kids. Not a good week at home though, still struggling to get my dh to understand I need to support my ds1, ds1 has caused some issues, but dh wont let these drop and move on. Keeps making little remarks which I find hard to deal with. Really feeling stressed at the moment.
Tomorrow I am getting my haircut and coloured, it is 6 months since I had it done, cant wait it is driving me mad.
os hoovered and mopped all downstairs, kitchen cleaned, washing put away and another load in ready for the morning.
Jools - Enjoy your night with your friends ((hugs)).
Miffy - Sorry didnt get chance to reply working as a TA, used to do this in a high school, but much prefer primary. Currently with Y6.

Julie - Glad u got home ok, hope your jetlag isnt too bad.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take Care0 -
Welcome home Julie.
Unclebryn and Jools: you are both doing so well, keep trying to live in the moment. Uncleb - tuck the memory of that walk away. You can go back there in your mind when the dark times come.
The Islanders here are getting ready to be snowed in. I'm willing to bet that at best (or worst, depending on your point of view) there will be the merest sprinkling of snow. They so rarely get snow here that the mere mention of the possibility of it sends them into a frenzy. In 2010 when it did snow quite hard, people were out building snowmen in their gardens at 3.00am in case it had all gone by the morning. Children were being woken up to see the phenomenon.
My DS reported that where he lives the C**p shelves were bare and they were selling sledges. He's wondering where they intend to use them as there isn't a hill worth mentioning around there.
It will probably rain.
