Canadian Visa?

We have booked a Alaskan cruise in May directly through an American Travel agent, they tel me that I may need a visa for our Vancouver stop.

I've looked on the Canadian web site and they say that a UK citizen does not need a visa, obviously we will sign the visa waiver for the US visit (travelling from Seattle)

But the US agent has me worried now. Has anyone cruised from the US to Canada and can reasure me?

They are just covering themselves as they don't know what the rules are for non-US citizens and don't want to take responsibility for advising you.

If you have a British passport then you will be fine - no visa needed for Canada.

Agree with dzug that if you hold a UK Passport with Citizenship you do not need a visa to enter Canada.

I went from Canada into the States, then back again, during a holiday, no visa, no problems!

Do NOT give the green slip (which is a US thing, not Canadian) back until you are boarding the plane in Seattle to come home.

The green slip is valid for 90 days from issue, so keep it... Ours wasn't removed coming back from a seatle day trip back into canada and not on the flight home; this was Feb 2006; upon flying into toronto last week the canadian immigration official just removed it as it had expired..

I now have one in there again after the niagara day trip; and immigration didn't remove it again.

In conclusion I just leave it in there and don't worry about it; remove it after it's expired if you wish, but if not someone will do it at some point

.. and no you don't need a visa if you have a UK passport
