It may be a function key that has a pic of a mouse on it - that's what mine was anyway,You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0

Thanks all. It was f5, but it would only work when I pressed it whilst logged out of windows. How mad to spend two days faffing and googling on my phone, when all I had to do was log out!
Much appreciated all the suggestions.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0 -
It has always been a matter of bafflement and annoyance how all the different brand and models of laptops have all different commands to do the same things. I wish they were all standardised, just as the letter keyboard has to be.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

Damn and blast it, it's gone again. As soon as I log into windows, bam! no cursor/pointer. Am using mouse now, checked the settings, no problems found, touchpad working ~ which it, until I log in, then it may work for a few seconds, then, nothing!
Grrrrr.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

it's a conflict with another device - used to happen sometimes with Win 950

Windows 8. It was working perfectly, but since the toddlers inteference, I just can't get it to work for more than a few minutes, if that. It's driving me insane. Though there are those who may say I was already there, but that's irrelevent!I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. On a more serious note, have you checked the accessibility settings? Being such a pain in previous versions of Windows they're among the first things I disable upon first log-in.0
