    quick update for you all

I returned my 75% off Mr Shoes shopping and got it refunded to my debit card. Then I immediately bought it again paying for it with my Argus vouchers :D

So thanks to Mr Shoes original 75% off, mailed out double points and bonus points coupons and now the Argus 25% off giftcards I reckon I paid about £35 for £240 of goods. :money:

i haven't seen any Argus giftcards in Mr Shoes to try the rinse and repeat that folks were considering BUT I did notice something (apologies if mentioned but worth repeating even if it has been said IMHO)......

The Mr Shoes giftcard says it can be used on "absolutely anythng in store". There are no exclusions whatsoever on either the card or the cardboard sleeve it is attached to other than can only be used between 6am and midnight, instore only and not valid in ROI.

Soooooo I think will be buying quite a few Mr Shoes giftcards in Argus and then using them to buy £25 B&Q giftcards in Mr Shoes. Effectively saving myself 25% on B&Q vouchers .....which I'll spend on a Wednesday with a pensioner in tow so that I can get another 10% off :rotfl:

Assuming this works and I see no reason why it won't, then it means people are not limited to saving 25% on the small range of Argus giftcards. You can effectively save 25% on the full range of Mr Shoes giftcards if you are savvy enough :D

Now to read back and see if this has been mentioned/shot down already :rotfl:

    Nice maths :T

is there a list anywhere of what gift cards Mr Shoes sells?

I did try to look on the Argos website but nothing listed.

Buying B and Q is a good idea, always something that need to be got from there and they have discount weekends as well. So a little stock pile of B and Q cards is a good idea.

Sounds yummy, could you share the recipe please :D

Easy peasy. sweat one onion and a clove of garlic in butter and a bit of oil (keep the lid on the pan) for two or three mins. add some carrots (about 3) and two thirds of a butternut squash. Keep mixing every couple of mins but have the lid on in between. Then add 1.5 litres of hot water and a stock pot/cube (i also put a bit of cumin in). Simmer without the lid for 30 mins. Leave to cool and blitz with a blender. Voila. :D

I just nipped home for a very quick catch up and a bit of lunch.

Waiting for mum to be taken into hospice. Pain is so severe, something desperately needs to be done for her.

Don't think I will be around much today somehow. Just going back to meet Macmillan nurse at mum's.

Hope everyone else is ok and hugs to everyone who needs them.

Really sorry to read this TS. Hope they can help to get your Mum comfortable quickly. Sending massive cuddles your way x
Mortgage companies don't look at human beings they look at figures.......they are all sweetie pie until something goes wrong. Try not to let the heartless barstewards stress you darling.

This is soooo true. It's all just figures. Some of the actual individuals I've spoken to seem unable to help because of company policy etc others don't give two hoots. Honestly felt awful enough having to explain situation for the hundredth time over the phone without being made to feel like a piece of carp for needing help :(

Give them a try and take care. Have got my Paloma Faith cd my daughter gave me on full blast. Its great.

Thanks for this. Have had a quick read over there. Seems you and I are dealing with the same carp company
They won't offer us interest only payments for a period of time as according to them we wouldn't be able to afford the reduced payments..... so they'll keep them higher

Just been to dentist ( £54.00 for scale and polish) and off to B/C to do battle about my mortgage problems thsi afternoon. Just realised they are not supposed to charge arrears letters so printed off template letter asking for £400 plus back. Thanks to Consumer action Forum for that ( great site - as helpful as this one)

Was this £54 for a check up as well? I don't think we pay that much.

Interesting to know how you get on with your mortgage problems :T

Interesting article regarding my local Tesco store :

    http://www.gazetteseries.co.uk/news/10180089.Fears_for_the_safety_of_customers_at_Tesco_supermarket_in_Yate/

Do any of you know of any other Tesco stores constructed like this? With the store built above the carpark?

Yes the new one in Crewe has the car parking underneath and store upstairs, horrible.
