I already know that when my Mum passes away I will probably only have contact with maybe one of my 4 siblings. Still I hope I will still have my Elite familypattylabelle wrote: »Wll you'll have me anyway chook:D

Yes I've not caught up recently.
In that 1st week the surgeon saw her and her hands were partly save able but not her legs - sorry its so awful I can't even type the words but it was below the knee.
Last week was equally dreadful, she was on such a strong cocktail of drugs and pain killers it made her very agitated and almost demented. In the middle of this, even with an air pipe in the hospital staff told her what had happened. She could not cope with this and convinced herself she had been in a car accident and she fretted about her handbag and the shopping etc.
This week there has been a major improvement, out of bed and in a wheelchair, only one one meds and mainly only fretting about her hands, their colour and the exercises she has to do.
It's miraculous how the human body has the power to rejuvenate itself, adapt and adjust.
And out of the blackest of situations there is always a silver lining. BF talked to his bosses and got a tempory transfer so he is now back home, working local so he can visit his mum, help his dad and back at the flat with my eldest so things are much easier - last year he was working away and just home at weekends so they were both permently stressed out.
So sorry mhoc, just seeing this now - I'm catching up reading backwards. What a nightmare for everyone and especially the mum. So glad she's on the mend, but what a terrible thing for her to go through
Can't even begin to imagine how me or my family would cope with this. Certainly makes you think about a whole lot of stuff like getting the family to do more around the house so that they would manage fine in any unforseen event. Think that's what I would worry about more, not about me but that they were all ok and eating etc.0 -
