Gift card pondering.....
Do you think I could say to Boots SA " I just got £60 of Boots giftcards for my birthday *cough cough* which is a shame because I spent £60 last week on the 75% off day"
If I took what I bought back to them would they refund to my debit card and then sell to me again on my giftcards? There is potential to recoup £15 here
I still have the receipt to prove it so can't see any problem with this.
Thoughts please....
No way am I getting my Boots stash out after having a huge game of tetris to pack it away. :rotfl:
And no way would I want to carry 4 big carrier bags back to store had enough trouble getting them home in the first place. :rotfl::rotfl:
But let us know how you get on aau.0 -

Morning all.
I need to do some serious reading back!!
I really need to be getting on with the housework today
Popped to Argos last night and grabbed some of the Boots gift cards included in their offer (figured I might as well use them to buy formula milk as I've worked out it's the cheapest way I can do it seeings as my BM has now virtually dried up). Luckily the billing cycle just ran so I worked out the payment due date is mid March so I can get the milk in Boots now with the giftcards and pay Argos back in nearly 2 months
Hugs to all that need them, I'll probably spend the rest of the day playing catch up as I'm baby sitting my friends lad today (I'm sure I'll nip on here for a dose of sanity!)
Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55

Hope all is well today.
Little ones were a little quiet yesterday. Hubby is struggling. He feels that is the end for his family, as mums was the place they all met up. The centre of the family.
Thank you everyone for their condolences.
Funeral won't be for 3 weeks. One of the Grandsons is getting married in 2 weeks so sad.
Oh that's such a shame having to wait so long for the funeralIt's a horrible time as it is, everyone and everything in limbo because you need that closure without having to wait that long. It's a pity the wedding is before too as that would have been a good time to reminisce about the happy times at a happy event as well, without having the funeral hanging over you all.
Sorry for prattling on, have been through this quite a few times over the years, especially over Christmas and New Year and its just a surreal experience.
Thinking of you all x0 -

Yes I've not caught up recently.
In that 1st week the surgeon saw her and her hands were partly save able but not her legs - sorry its so awful I can't even type the words but it was below the knee.
Last week was equally dreadful, she was on such a strong cocktail of drugs and pain killers it made her very agitated and almost demented. In the middle of this, even with an air pipe in the hospital staff told her what had happened. She could not cope with this and convinced herself she had been in a car accident and she fretted about her handbag and the shopping etc.
This week there has been a major improvement, out of bed and in a wheelchair, only one one meds and mainly only fretting about her hands, their colour and the exercises she has to do.
It's miraculous how the human body has the power to rejuvenate itself, adapt and adjust.
And out of the blackest of situations there is always a silver lining. BF talked to his bosses and got a tempory transfer so he is now back home, working local so he can visit his mum, help his dad and back at the flat with my eldest so things are much easier - last year he was working away and just home at weekends so they were both permently stressed out.
Hope things continue to improve, thinking of you all xCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
